SaierNico, Shore Power connection (COLD IRONING) – Alternative Maritime Power (AMP)
As part of the “FuelEU Maritime Initiative”, EU is mandating to mandate for Container and Passenger vessels, to connect to on-shore power supply while at berth in EU ports, from 2030 onwards.

The US California Air Resources Board (CARB) has already in place similar regulations since 2014 for Container, Passenger and Reefer vessels. These regulations will expand to Tankers and RoRos from 01 January 2025 onwards (further to the “2020 At Berth Regulation”).

In addition to regulated areas, there are various terminals worldwide, including Far East, that provide substantial benefits to vessels able to connect to shore-power.

General scope of supply (indicative) of MV AMP:
The AMP equipment can be installed either inside the vessel (ER, ECR, etc) or in a container on deck.
SaierNico have 6.6KV test facility with up to 500KW load, which can be brought to the shipyard for a 100% test of the equipment/system.
